Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of murder after a decomposed body was found in a shallow grave in bushes in Forest Hill on Monday.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said that police received information on Sunday about the body and immediately investigated.
However, she said police were unable to find anything due to the darkness, and the search resumed on Monday.
“At approximately 08:00 the detectives continued with the search and found signs of a shallow grave. During the search they found a decomposed body," Janse Van Rensburg said.
She said the gender, deceased identity and cause of death are unknown at this stage and form part of the investigation.
“A case of murder was opened for further investigation,” she said.
